Emtel™ has
completed a beta testing for Emergency Medicine Telemedicine Services
(EMTS) and Consultation Services at considerable expenses over a four
and a half year period
(July 1999-December 2003) As a result of this beta test, Emtel™
has accomplished the following:
- Diagnosed and
treated 80,000+ emergency patients representing the full spectrum
of minor and major emergencies through its EMTS;
- Evaluated patient
outcomes and patient satisfaction in comparison to conventional services;
- Developed Standard
Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Protocol Manuals for EMTS, including
the relationship between the physician extenders at the remote sites
and the Emergency Medicine physician at the Medical Control Center
(MCC);
- Established the
technology and methodology for linking remote sites to Specialty services
including Psychiatry, Neurology, Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Pain
Management, Surgery, Orthopedics, Dermatology, Pediatrics, Internal
Medicine and Intensivits;
- Developed and
refined a Telemedicine Worstation, the Medical Control Center (MCC)
technology and infrastructure in support of the EMTS;
- Developed and
refined remote, wireless, mobile units capable to transfer live 2-way
video images of patients and staff at remote sites; the units are
also able to transfer all documents including X-ray images, Electrocardiograms
and others;
- Obtained US Patent
No. 6,369,847 for its Emergency Facility Video-Conferencing System,
and US Patent No. US D469,746 S for its Emergency Medical Video-Conferencing
Unit, with rights in various countries.
Emtel™
Telehealth will respond to RFPs for turnkey systems requiring Telehealth
services at remote locations. Alternatively, Emtel™ Telehealth will
consider a providing a limited license to users seeking to employ Emtel™
Video-Conferencing Systems.
Emtel™ Telehealth
will make available all technology equipment for users contracting for
Telehealth services through its affiliated company, Emtel Leasing Services.
