Emtel recognizes that the process of credentialing and provider enrollment can consume up to six months. New providers are immediately enrolled to obtain all numbers that are needed to bill for the services they will render. Emtel understands the importance of reenrollment, updating applications thus eliminating the claim rejection "provider not enrolled." Emtel's Credentialing Specialist (CS) activities include:

• Pre-screening to ensure the applicant meets all criteria
• Ensuring applicant completes the application within the specified time frame
• Obtaining all relevant documents
• Conducting primary source verification
• Maintaining credentialing file
• Coordinating CME activities
